Holiday Inn! Not only did it make me fall in in love with classic movies but it led to me falling in love with Fred and Ginger, because although I didn’t like the character Freddy was playing in this movie I later on watched Shall We Dance because I thought he was a good dancer.

Day 03- Favorite Actor

Probably Fred Astaire, but William Powell is very close to being tied with him :D

Hope you all have a great day!

New blog and Fred and Ginger

Hello everyone! I know I haven't posted in awhile and I'm very sorry, I will try to post more often. but I just wanted to take a little time and tell you all about this new blog that I have been helping to run. It's a blog for my church and we are going to be posting VEGAN recipes on it and some videos and articles. So if you have some time and are interested in any of these things please follow our blog.

We only have two posts up so far but trust me, there WILL be more! We also made a Facebook page which so far has a lot more posts on it, if you want to check it out here is the Link

And now back to classics.

I honestly just want to make a Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers appreciation post.
They are just amazing aren't they?

I don't remember exactly when I first saw a Fred and Ginger movie, but I believe it was almost at the end of 2007. Maybe around October. The first movie I saw with them was Shall We Dance and I LOVED it. After that I tried desperately to find the rest of their movies, then after seeing them all I soon came to be a HUGE Ginger fan and set out to watch all her movies. I love Fred too of course, but Ginger is my favorite actress ever. But I always go back to those 10 wonderful movies they made together. They have so much chemistry,  I mean they worked fantastically together! The movies they made together are perfect. The dancing, the songs, the scripts, the actors.... ;D  I know most of the songs by heart. It's hard to choose my favorite movie of theirs, but they used to be Roberta and Top Hat. Now I have changed my mind a bit though, and I believe my favorites are Shall We Dance and Top Hat. As for favorite song, that is a question I could not answer, because I love A LOT of them.

I created this list (with the link to the song and dance) of all my favorite dance numbers or songs from the Fred and Ginger movies. I also looooooooove when Fred plays the piano, so if you watch all the links you'll spot a couple of piano songs!

Flying Down to Rio: The Carioca

The Gay Divorcee: Night and Day
Roberta: I'll Be Hard to Handle, I Won't Dance
Top Hat:Cheek to Cheek, The Piccolino, and Isn't it a Lovely Day?
Follow the Fleet: Let's Face the Music and Dance, I'm Putting all my Eggs in One Basket
Swing Time: Never Gonna Dance, A Fine Romance
Shall We Dance: They all Laughed, They Can't Take that Away From Me
Carefree: Change Partners, and the Yam
The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle: The Last Waltz
The Barkleys of Broadway: They Can't Take That Away From Me Dance

                                                 Have a great day everyone!

Movie section:

Well I recently watched a movie called It Happened on Fifth Avenue

If you haven't seen it yet, I most DEFINITELY suggest it.
It has a sweet and charming story, and some very witty lines! Despite the fact that the actress Gale Storm seemed to be trying to act like Deanna Durbin (and failed miserably) This definitely goes on my favorite movies list :)
