Swing Time isn't your favorite? I like it the best out of all their musicals. I like Top Hat and Shall We Dance, too, though. Which one is your favorite?
It is hard between An American in Paris and Mary Poppins, but I think I will have to say the latter. Maybe because my son will watch it over and over with me!
Well, no big mystery as to my pick, but ya know, I kinda think GandF movies aren't TRULY 'musicals', in that, well, even though they dance and sing, there are really no 'big production numbers', save for the few in the first couple of their films (most notably 'The Continental') - Roberta has its moments where it delves into 'musical' territory, especially the ending... well, maybe I am overanalyzing this.... hmmm?
I would say that 'singing in the rain' is my fave 'non-GandF' musical.
DS: Hahaha ok! :D Huey: Haha yeah I figured! :D Yeah same here, most musicals, especially 50's musicals have those HUGE shows that last for a really long time, and taking advantage of technicolor they have MILLIONS of different colors on each person XD Haha but they are awesome :D So unrealistic they get your mind off everything :D You're welcome!
RaniaK: Ooo nice pick, I LOVE My Fair Lady, and same here, I NEVER get sick of it :D
Hi Anna! I'm going to watch Singing in the Rain this month! Everything month I always to try devote a weekend to a classic movie or two and watch it several times with a bowl of popcorn and treats! ha ha I lurve the classics too and I lurve the photos of an era that had so much more glamour than today. Have a great day! Janeen
ChaChaneen: Hi Janeen! :D Awesome! Same here, i try to watch classics as much as I can, they are wonderful, and much better than modern movies. Totally! Everything in them is sooo glamorous! :D
